If true comedy is seeing two sides of a situation, then Carol Hughes, 67, was blessed with eyes in the back of her head. She never realized she could share this gift with others until age 40. That is when she started using her comedic muscles to reach new heights as a stand-up comic.

Decades before “American Idol,” 12 beautiful young girls—who came to be known as “The Golddiggers”—discovered their fortune of success when Dean Martin selected them among thousands auditioning in major U.S. and Canadian cities to sing and dance on his variety show. After several appearances in 1969 their popularity led to Dean’s featuring them on his summer replacement show, titled: “Dean Martin Presents The Golddiggers.” Praising their talent and beauty, he also promoted their nubile youth by announcing his scotch was now the oldest thing on his show.







Patricia Starr
~ Cycles Cross Country

Patricia Starr, 72, spent fifty (50) days bicycling across country to raise funds for a music scholarship at Santa Barbara City College. Raul R. Rodriguez, Conceptual Designer for the Tournament of Roses Parade says Patricia Starr is “A true inspiration to all, Patricia shows us how to reach deep and bring out the best in each of us."

A Great Life at 82

Question: What are you up to now?
At age 82, I am still very active and involved in vocal coaching. I have a wonderful array of students studying Broadway music to jazz.

Question: How did you become interested in music?
My involvement with the Broadway Theater came mostly in the late seventies through the eighties. Broadway was very hot and interesting then.
